Welcome to Hurtado Peer-to-Peer Advisory: A volunteer mentor collective.
We share what we’ve learned about navigating disability to help you stay in charge of your life.
Our approach
We aren't here to "treat" you. We are a collective of medically retired professionals, PhDs, executives, and specialists, who are now living with disabilities and navigating senior care ourselves.
As a Peer-to-Peer Collective, we don't provide therapy, doctors, or medication. Instead, we offer real-world mentorship. We help you find your voice, share our "survival secrets," and help you stay in the driver's seat when dealing with big systems.
Whether you need to talk to someone who "gets it" or you need a strategy to handle a complex situation, we’re here to help you connect with a peer who speaks your language.
We Meet You Where You’re Comfortable
We are an adaptive group, and that means we value your energy and ours. To keep things simple and accessible, all our mentoring happens virtually. Whether it’s a video chat, a quick text, or an email, we are here for you in the digital spaces where you feel most at ease. No offices, no commute, just peer-to-peer connection on a schedule that honors your health.
Meet our Founder
Strategy for the System. Grace for the Journey.
"My identity has never fit into a single box. I spent 25 years as a global HR executive, and while I earned a PhD in Psychology and Counseling, I’ve never been a researcher in an ivory tower. I’m a practitioner. It was my years serving as a chaplain, however, that truly defined my approach. That experience was my bridge, teaching me how to sit with people in their hardest moments while still holding a map for the path forward.
Today, I navigate life with a T9 SCI and a rare neuromuscular disorder. I’ve traded the boardroom for this collective, using my background in systems and the soul to help our community dismantle the 'Expert-archy' and reclaim their autonomy. I’m direct because your time is precious, kind because I know how heavy the load is, and I always bring a sense of humor to the beautiful absurdity of it all.”

“The doctors gave me a diagnosis, but the Hurtado Collective gave me a roadmap. Having a peer mentor who has actually walked this path made all the difference. They shared the 'life survival' tips you can't find in a brochure. I’m not just managing; I’m navigating.”
